Doctrine
What this should help a church understand
Your major theological commitments, the biblical basis for them, and any convictions that could meaningfully affect church fit or pastoral practice.
Facts and stories to collect
- The church’s statement of faith, candidacy questionnaire, and any topics it specifically asks candidates to address.
- A clear one- or two-sentence position on each major doctrine, written in language you can explain in an interview.
- A small set of primary Scripture passages for each position rather than a long list of references.
- Secondary issues, denominational distinctives, or areas of disagreement that deserve an honest conversation.
